A 2-stroke power valve is nothing more than a piece of metal slid into the engine’s exhaust port. Its primary function is to regulate the size of the exhaust port, thus enabling the engine to deliver controlled power throughout the rev range. Back in the day, two-stroke engines had very limited power bands. For example, a 2-stroke utility ATV .... Costco gas prices tigard

I am looking for any equations or "rules of thumb" for calculating theoretical 2-stroke engine horsepower. I don't have access to a 2-stroke engine simulation program. I want to know the max power I can squeeze out of this engine, given the engine's bore & stroke, a tuned pipe, and playing with the port sizes and locations. Thanks! jakeyes the power band on a two stroke is typically a result of the exhaust pulses being refracted by the shape of the exhaust causing any lost mixture to be forced …Two-stroke engines have narrow power bands because their expansion chamber exhaust only works over a short rev range. The exhaust creates a negative pressure wave that prevents fuel from going straight out of the exhaust, which only works well at a specific flow level.I would go with a YZ250 because they are so versatile. It doesn't take a lot of money and work to transform what is a great motocross track bike into a serious woods weapon. You will hear some guys say the YZ250 is "overrated" but there is a reason it is arguably the most discussed bike on Thumpertalk. A lot of people own and ride a YZ250.A 2-stroke engine is a type of reciprocating engine that uses only two strokes of the piston to complete a power cycle. In the two-stroke engine, one revolution of the crankshaft is completed after the completion of two piston strokes. In this type of internal combustion engine, the piston reciprocates up and down in the cylinder twice for each ...Basically, making it more like a 2-stroke. Engines that are built specifically for high RPM operation (drag race, etc) are put together with airflow in mind, of course, you can go too far and ruin the whole thing.
