2024 M4 vs 1301

Beretta 1301 hands down. I spent years on the quest for the best duty shotgun back when I worked for a shotgun only department. Since I couldn’t have a patrol rifle, I wanted the best shotgun available. I had a Benelli M2. It was temperamental with light loads. But the biggest problem was slug shooting.. Canadian here looking to get my first shotgun. Deciding on a shotgun, been researching but I want opinions of real owners not just youtube reviewers. In Canada the prices for these guns differ around 600 each, 940 is $1600 Cad reg price. 1301 is around $1600-2k. M4 is anywhere from $2500 on a sale to 3k. Some people say the 1301 shoots softer than the M4 but I did not find this to be true. With defensive loads (buck shot, slugs etc), the M4 felt noticeably softer. I did notice the M4 feels like it has a heavier buffer spring compared to the 1301.
