Once the Shrouded Ghost returns, focusing on it will end the fight quicker, but it may also be easier to periodically take out a few of the ghost ships so the player's boat doesn't become surrounded. Both times I had been chased by the meg for a bit before the fog and it went away. So only tip I can offer is if you are heading to fog and a meg comes up kill it because im pretty sure that same meg will just keep spawning on you. .
